Nothing but a day dream - ⽇舍
28.12.23 - 29.01.23
⽇舍 alludes to point out a studio is only but a daydream for quite a few of us based in SG, where real estate is a premium.
But could it be really be a fragile figment of our fantasies? The imagery is of the word ⽇舍 is rendered completely in crystal glass, endlessly basking
in warm and cool lights in 3D space, representative of the elusiveness and temporal nature of day-turning-into-night, consistent, gentle but unforgiving.
⽇舍 is also the literal translation of Day Abode, directly referencing our residence, which is only active during the day.
It is also a counterpoint to Supper House.
Supported by GRiD, Supper GRiD is a new 4-week long co-lab concept created by Supper House. We designed this program to support a new benchmark in approach towards artist studio setups. By placing open studios within the context of a temporary space and curating a list of artist across a range of mediums, we are offering our artists the flexibility to work, communicate and learn in novel ways. Each studio will have feature an open layout, allowing for individualistic expressions. This creates the chance to work alone together. The residence was 4 weeks long, and cumulated in an open-to-public open studio session. This was also part of SEA Focus’s line up of events.
